Berry Wormington Cottage, Stanton, Glos.

Starting life in the 1960s as a tied farm worker's cottage constructed with Bradstone blocks and Crittall metal single glazed windows, the cottage and several acres of land were purchased in 2007 when the former working farm was divided into lots and sold.

With the help of Tyack Architects from Moreton in the Marsh, consent was obtained for 3 extensions. A further planning consent was then obtained to render the remaining elements of exposed Bradstone.

The "swan" that has subsequently emerged from the once "ugly duckling" is a testimony to the hard work of restoration specialist Leapgate Builders of Stourport.

The cottage sits on the edge of the renowned Cotswold village of Stanton enjoying unrivalled views of open countryside. These stretch to the nearby northern Cotswold escarpment and to Bredon Hill to the South.

A cart-shed style garage has been constructed to serve the new home which has 2 en-suite bedrooms and 2 further bedrooms served with a generous family bathroom. A gallery landing leads down to a snug, lounge and massive dining kitchen with designer fitted units and AGA. 4 sets of french doors maximise the views from the living spaces.
